WHY WE NEED TO VALUE 'ORISA' (DEITY)

*WHY WE MUST PRESERVE AND VALUE the gods (deity)*

Memories show the trend of our culture
How it is embedded in every tradition and customs
It reveals how we all honour and fear gods
Opening our hearty eyes to living rightfully right.

'Orisa' had been our forefather's deity,
She had been there for us through thick and thin
We look up to her for clothing, feeding and shelter
She never denied or deprived us these things
Why then must we 'ri yawo' and 'ko yale'
When her love to us still sticks like super glue.

Years ago, everything travel the right way
Then wayladed and invaded from our backyard, the colonisation.
That led us to exchanging our treasurable values for lots,
Leaving us with unworthy and stinking sight.

Who dares say a word in arrogance to 'orisa'?
Who dares serve with laziness or disobeys 'orisa'?
Who dares says bad of other family's 'orisa'?
Nigbati sango ti ti oju won ja, won o je bawon bu oba ko so
Who dares looking eyeball to eyeball with 'orisa'?

Where is colonisation dragging our future and culture?
It has come to belittle and cripple the values of our mothers
'Orisa bi Iya ko si', not in this world nor the world to come.
Lets all honour, respect, serve and preserve the value of our 'Orisa'; our mothers are gods, they are deities, they deserve to be honoured.
(Ephesians 6:1-2)
