TEN STEPS OF WRITING A GOOD SCRIPT.

TEN STEPS OF WRITING A GOOD SCRIPT.

THE STORY CONCEPT: That is, the story idea.
BRAINSTORMING: when you brainstorm, you will start seeing your real ministration key scenes, character and dialogues. Once you find a story concept you can might make a good movie, you can not emphasize enough how important brainstorming is. To begin with, this is where you discover if your concept is indeed good enough. If your ideas for the plot and characters leap into your imagination, there’s a pretty good chance you got a decent concept. Also when you brainstorm, Key scenes emerges.
RESEARCH: This generally goes hand-in-hand with brainstorming as research feeds the process. You can start your research by going to libraries, check the Internet, travel and interview people that the story is related to. There is different between Revelation and Information. God will give you Revelation and Man will give you Information. As a good script writer, always go on research. You can not just pick up your writing materials without making research.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: this is a follow up to the story concept, when you are brainstorming and doing research, characters emerge and plot ideas pop up.
PLOTTING:  in the process of character development, the next thing is plot. That is, you will start writing down what you think they are interesting after writing the synopsis like the beats, scenes, body movement, blockings and start separating wheat from the chaff.
OUTLINE: this is the process by which you will transcribe the content of everything to a new word or what exactly you needs.
SCRIPT DIARY: as you are writing a script, always crosscheck all what you have been writing because new idea and inspirations will start coming.
FIRST DRAFT: this is the actual page writing. All what you have been doing since are called pre-writing work. And mind you, the rest of the process are actually quiet simple. Your goal is the first draft to get the story stuff out and put them down on a paper so you can have something to work with.
REWRITE: your first draft is not your script. After your first draft, you will rewrite it again to make it good. A lazy one can never be a good script writer.
EDITING: this is always fun and it goes along with the number nine (9). That is, to remove something’s and add something’s and we can also call it screenplay.

NOTE THESE:

STAGE SCRIPT: this is a bionic or dialogue script that gives an artiste instruction on stage direction on set and contains blockings of the cast as well as line delivered.
FILM SCRIPT: This deal with technical stunt or technical arrangement and a logical method.
SCRIPT: its already prepared document for drama or film. It can be in written form (manuscript) or typed.
SYNOPSIS: this is a summary or a brief general survey that talks about a story in a shortest form.
SCENERY: This is the breaking down of a story structure to represent the scene.
I have seen some sceneries been presented to me as a script. Scenery is different from script.
