AS A MINISTER, YOU NEED TO KNOW THESE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE VALUE IN YOUR MINISTRY.

AS A MINISTER, YOU NEED TO KNOW THESE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE VALUE IN YOUR MINISTRY.

1. IT IS NOT EVERYONE YOU OBEY: No matter the post, caliber, status or possession of that person, if the advice or instruction he/she is giving you contradicts what the Paraclete tell you, DON'T OBEY!
Remember the small and big prophet?

2. NOT EVERY FOOD YOU MUST EAT: No matter the level of your hunger, no matter how long your daily bread tarries, you just have to endure the hunger because it is not every food you see that is good for you. 
Remember Adam & Eve, Jacob and Esau too?

3. NOT EVERY INVITATION YOU MUST HONOUR: No after the rapport you have or the relationship you keep with those inviting you; in fact! No matter what they have to offer you, beware of the invitations you honour. 
Let them cal it pride or whichever name they like... Those you disapprove their invitation today may be glad to have you honour their invitation some other time. Honouring some invitations are dangerous.
Remember Balaam and Balak, how about David and Uriah???

4. YOU CANNOT DO EVERYTHING THAT OTHERS DO: Not every drink you can take, others may take strong wine, but as a minister its not good for you. The fact that other ministers, even elders in the ministry are going in with any and every lady doesn't make it right or acceptable, in short, it is a taboo. Flee formication and adultery if you want to last long in the ministry.
Remember the story of David, Joseph and et al.

5. YOU CAN'T MARRY ANYWHERE OR ANYHOW: A lot of people marry wrong because they're pressured to marry, some because they feel they are outgrowing age, and some because they fell into temptation and committed adultery that led to unplanned kid. Listen! The fact that you made a mistake doesn't mean you should build on a wrong foundation. It is better to have a scar than to have wet bruises. Right your wrong if you must remain relevant in the ministry
Don't just marry anybody, anywhere or anyhow if you must last long. 

6. NOT EVERYTHING YOU SAY AND NOT EVERYONE YOU DISCUSS WITH: There are some things that are better kept to yourself instead of discussing it because some information are better kept a secret as they are just too vital to be leaked especially when it comes to spiritual things. 
Remember Joseph, what about Samson???

7. NOT EVERY HONORARIUM OR GIFT YOU ACCEPT: No matter how well or powerful that God has used you for some persons, it is not every one you collect honorarium from and not every gift you collect because some gift are more like a packaged poison.  Beware!
Remember Gehazi???

8. NOT EVERYONE YOU JOURNEY WITH: Almost everyone is moving and many are moving in the same direction but not everyone is heading to  the same destination. Some people may seem so jovial, loving and fun to be with on the same track with you but moving with them may endanger you life, that of your family and most of all your ministry. So, be very careful.
Remember those who traveled with Jonah??

9. NOT EVERYONE WHO FOLLOW YOU ARE FOR YOU: On social media, churches, streets etc. Many ministers have a lot of fans who respect, regard and follow them keenly but not all of them love you and not all of them actually trust or believe in you, your ministry or even your calling. Some are following you as spies; they are there to find out your weaknesses and flaws; some are there to backstab you while many others are just following for the benefits they can get from you be it spiritual, financial, psychological or educational wise.
So, you need to be wise and spiritually sensitive.
Remember Jesus and the multitude.

10. NOT ALL WHO IGNORE YOU HATE YOU: Many people refuse to show their love and follow you publicly not because they hate you hut because they don't feel safe enough to do so. Such people follow you secretly, watch you closely, ready you posts, watch your sermons or live streams without dropping a comment or liking it at all. Don't disappoint or mislead them. Watch your steps, mind your speeches and actions, there are millions of them out there who still love you and believe in your ministry, don't let them down.

11. NOT EVERY QUESTION YOU ANSWER: Silence is a loud word whose interpretation can be understood by the wise. There are some questions that are better answered with silence or simply by walking away. 
Words are like eggs, it cannot be retrieved once it sis spoken. Mind your words and tailor your actions so as to last long in the ministry and not wither in no time. 
Remember Eve in the garden of Eden???

N:B - Ministry goes beyond the walls of a church auditorium, what you do within the confinements of the auditorium is your service and that which you do outside it is your ministry. Watch it closely and guard it jealously.
